1. Automatic Installation of AMX MODX in CS 1.6 Server
First download here one of the three install AMX Mod X you can choose between three versions available: 1.76d, 1.8.0 and 1.8.1). Unzip it somewhere on disk. Double click on the setup. click Next, "I accept the terms", next ... you got to Browse. Leave the folder is automatically selected (C: \ Program Files \ AMX MODX) click next and then Install.Proceed to the second phase of the installation. Leave the Run box AMX MODX installerand let it Finish. At this point begins the actual installation. next, I accept ..., next. It comes and a selection window where you choose "select mod directory" fourth option, and next. You choose the folder HLDS \ cstrike (HLDS is your file server) and down to the"Custom game addon" choose Counter-Strike and click OK. Attention! If the installer will detect another installation's old AMX MODX will ask you if you want to continue. You have three options:- Yes yes, and then all the old configurations will be erased (admins already installed plugins, slots etc
- Yes no, and then they will upgrade binary files without deleting configurations
- Give cancel to give
2. Install AMXMODX with direct module
Download cstrike module here . Unzipp anywhere on the disc. Open amxmodx-1.8.0-cstrike \ addons \ amxmodx. Here you have 5 folders: configs, modules, scripting, plugins, once. The components of each folder here, must reach the folders with the same name in HLDS \ cstrike \ addons \ amxmodx (HLDS is your server folder). So open amxmodx 1.8.0-cstrike \ addons \ amxmodx \ configs and copy everything there in HLDS \ cstrike \ addons \ amxmodx \ configs. And so with all five files.At the moment you install the cstrike AMX MODX on your server. Server starts to see results and give "meta list". The result should be: RUN AMX MODX. Important! Installing the CStrike is required for operation of the server!
3. Install manual AMXMODX
This is a more complicated installation not recommended for beginners. For advanced users who want hassle I will discuss briefly.Go to www.amxmodx.org and click on "Downloads". Download the amxmodx package for Windows, Linux and AMD64.
Unzip it in the Module ( module directory \ addons \ amxmodx). If you climb through FTP, you have to extract it in a temporary directory (eg. The Desktop).
Go back to site Amxmodx to "Downloads" and download addons you want. Currently available for addons: Counter-Strike/Condition-Zero, Team Fortress Classic, Day of Defeat, The Specialists, Natural Selection, and Earth's Special Forces. Make sure you have downloaded the appropriate package for your operating system (Windows, Linux or Linux AMD64) Unzip the addon in the same place as before. Would need to add some files in amxmodx installation location. If you use FTP, do upload the addons folder.
Amxmodx should be installed now! You write "meta list" in console game to check if everything is ok. Now you can move on to configuring Amxmodx. If you have problems, ask on the forum.
4. Configure admin settings
To control your counter strike server you have to configure admin (put your admin). This is done very simply. You go in HLDS \ cstrike \ addons \ amxmodx \ configs \ users.ini, and go down the page until you find a line "loopback" "" "bcdfe ....". That line you need to edit - or copy that same line and paste it below that line place your name instead of loopback. and if you want to set the password. to enter as a admin in the counter strike1.6 server. you need configure it further more.
- In first line as you can see an example steam id has been place in the user.ini file you can place your own steam id there to make your self server admin via Steam id.
- In the second line as you can see there was an example computer ip has been set 192.168.1.2 . you can replace it with your own lan ip if your playing on lan or internet ip if you are playing online.
- In the third line there is option of making yourself or any other player admin of thecounter strike 1.6 dedicated server via player name. change your name in user.ini file there was a "loopback" as default name but i have place GameLoversPro as my own name. save it and restart your server and you will be the admin of the server.
5. How to Put password for a admin in Counter Strike 1.6 Server.
If you want to set up the password of the specific admin who manage your server giving him authentication we need do small configuration in user.ini admin command line.This is how you can easily install AMXMODX in your Counter Strike 1.6 dedicated server. along with full user.ini file configuration. Well is it very easy!
1. Download "Decal Converter"
2. Make Any image in editor
3. See this guide for making the "Decal" i.e Spray form your image, it has screenshots of Decal Converter to help you all:
4. Now we want to make the spray transparent (remove the gray around the terrorist). Under Transparent Color you should see the box is automatically colored gray. Click replace then select Max for both Width and Height, The image should now have a blue background.
5.Now we we're ready to convert the image to a decal, Click Decal on the top of the window and select Make Decal. For easy accessibility, click Add then select your desktop. This makes it easier for you to find the converted decals.
6. Place the "tempdecal.wad" file in your game's "cstrike" folder and you are done!
7.Time to test our spray logo. Launch CS and join a server and test. Our final spray looks like this.
